The opening event of the political day at the People’s Peace Conference. On stage, victims of October 7th, Palestinian and Israeli activists, international guests, artists, and peace organization representatives will unite in a joint call to end the war, bring everyone home, and promote peace.

    In the central political session of the People’s Peace Summit, possible solutions to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will be presented — demonstrating that there are partners for peace, and there is a path forward.
    Sally Abed will invite:

    * Dr. Roee Kibrik and Palestinian journalist Mohammad Daraghmeh will explore potential steps to stop the war and emerge from the current crisis.
    * Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and former Palestinian Authority Foreign Minister Nasser Al-Kidwa will present their peace framework.

    Maya Savir will moderate a panel featuring representatives of joint Israeli-Palestinian initiatives offering detailed plans to resolve core issues such as security, borders, and refugees. Participants include:

    * Gadi Blatiansky and Nidal Foqaha from the Geneva Initiative
    * Eran Nissan and Rawan Odeh from the Phoenix Program

    How can the international community promote peace and agreements in an era of global chaos and rising tensions? A panel of ambassadors and diplomats responds to peace initiatives and recent political developments.

    “The Daily Postcard Creates Hope” with Ze’ev Engelmaier: A meeting with activist artist Engelmaier (Shoshka) on the award-winning daily postcards project, created in the aftermath of October 7 and the war.

    On the conflict in Northern Ireland, it was said: “Anyone who thinks it can be solved doesn’t understand it.” Yet, the agreement came. Monica McWilliams and Avila Kilmurray, two of the architects of the Irish peace agreement, and other experts, in a panel on ending “unsolvable” conflicts.

    With participation from: Monica McWilliams and Avila Killmurray, leaders of the women’s peace movement in Northern Ireland, as well as Liel Maghen, Dr. Yael Lazar, Dr. Limor Yehuda. Moderated by Ibrahim Abu Ahmad.

    An open conversation with leading educators about the challenges and opportunities of education for peace during a time of conflict. Experts from both Jewish and Arab communities will discuss practical ways to nurture a generation of hope and change, and how the education system can be part of a movement toward peace.

    The dual-narrative approach offers a practical tool for dialogical and inclusive education; in this session, we will experience it firsthand by learning about a historical event from two perspectives. We will see how violence can be transformed into dialogue, promote mutual understanding, and build a culture of peace.

    Israelis and Palestinians who have paid the price of war talk about reconciliation. Israelis and Palestinians, some of whom have experienced personal and close losses, will discuss forgiveness, responsibility, and recognition. In an intimate conversation, we will shed light on the deep meaning of reconciliation and the necessary conditions for its existence.

    Jerusalem – From the Heart of the Conflict to the Capital of Peace: Practical Solutions and a Political Imagination Workshop

    When we learn to imagine Jerusalem as the home of both peoples, we will take the first step towards peace. A political imagination workshop led by Mushon Zer-Avid (Land For All - Two States, One Homeland), followed by a panel moderated by Nir Hasson (Haaretz) on practical solutions for the city’s future. The panel will feature Yehudit Oppenheimer, Nivine Sandouka, and Professor Menachem Klein.

    Moral injury is the psychological harm caused when a person is forced to act against their values and conscience. Experienced therapists and researchers will discuss the consequences of moral injury in conflict and present ways to cope with it.

Visitors are invited to wander, reflect, and experience a vision for a world where there is peace with the land as well.

  • Creation and Storytelling Time

    Creators of Peace: A creative space for children, parents, and families, inviting them to think, imagine, feel, and then draw or write what peace means to them. The creations will be compiled into a colorful book, offering a new version of the 1975 children’s book “My Peace,” created by children.

    Narrated by: Shem Smith and Manal Sa’abeina

    A magical journey into the world of friendship, hope, and patience through the beloved story of Frog and Toad. The authors Manal Sa’abeina and Shem Smith will narrate “The Letter” in Hebrew and Arabic and guide the children in creating postcards for their loved ones. An experience that reminds us, just like the snail in the story, peace may be delayed, but it will come.

    A Comics Workshop for Peace for Children with Ilana Zaphran

    A comics workshop for peace for children with Ilana Zaphran, an Israeli comic artist and caricaturist. The creations will be included in a book inspired by the 1975 children’s book “My Peace,” which was illustrated by children.

    The Present is the Future: An experiential workshop with the Jerusalem Youth Choir.

    The choir brings the voice of a shared Palestinian-Israeli future from the streets of Jerusalem to stages around the world – TED, America’s Got Talent, and more. The young singers will demonstrate how music facilitates difficult conversations and enables the building of a future of peace, justice, and equality – together.
